Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls made headlines after the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show —and, unfortunately, it wasn’t because they crushed their runway walks.
When the close friends didn’t interact much (or even snap a pic backstage) at the coveted fashion event, fans speculated that the VS Angels may have had a falling out. While the reports haven’t been confirmed, Joan seemingly fueled the rumor mill as she dropped a telling comment under Just Jared’s report of their alleged rift.
“SUMMER HOUSE! That’ll explain everything,” she shared, alluding to Ciara Miller, Amanda Batula, and West Wilson’s love triangle drama on the Bravo series.
To make matters more confusing, several Deuxmoi sources revealed a possible reason the besties may have stopped talking.
“According to one tip, Joan and Tom allegedly dated on and off for approximately a year. During that time, Candice reportedly expressed concern about the relationship out of respect for Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen , and cautioned Joan to be careful. The tipster claims that after Joan and Tom’s relationship ended, Candice became romantically involved with Brady herself,” Deux reported on October 24.
The Angels have remained tight-lipped on the whole situation, but one of Candice’s reps, Amanda Ruisi, just released a statement and revealed where she stands with Joan.
“Candice has always been exceptionally private about her personal life, with her focus remaining on raising her children. She and Joan share a longstanding history and a friendship that Candice will always respect,” Amanda told Just Jared on Wednesday, October 28.
Her update comes after another insider told People that Candice and Tom have apparently been secretly dating “for months.”
“They’ve been dating for a while now,” the source claimed. “They both live in Miami, so it’s very convenient. They’re spending a lot of time together.”
A separate source doubled down, adding, “Candice and Tom have been dating for months. She’s been very secretive and selective about who she’s told about their dating. When they have met up, they’ve gone [to great] lengths not to be spotted.”
Joan also reshared a cryptic post to her Instagram Stories following People ’s report on Tuesday, October 27, which read, “This Halloween, I’m dressing up as accountability. Apparently, that’s the scariest fucking thing some people can face.” Ouch.
