Carly, 39, participated in a Reddit Q&A with American Idol fans, fielding questions about her time on the show and more.
At one point, she was asked: “Do you think any of the current judges should be replaced with some new fresh faces? If so, who would you like to see as a judge next season?”
The musician held nothing back, responding: “I think that the current culture of our world prevents the judges from being hard on the contestants. They’re also musicians themselves so they risk alienating their own fans. Simon [Cowell] had nothing to lose because he wasn’t selling anything.”
She added: “I miss Simon to be honest. He was a d**k but it was great television. Our world is too sensitive nowadays.
“My biggest complaint of the show is how easy the contestants have it. If you’re s**t – you’re s**t ! Let’s see all the auditions and have real judging.”
She concluded: “I was told terrible things by Simon but it prepared me for the industry ahead. It’s not a place for a snowflake.”
Carly competed on season seven of American Idol.
At the time, Simon was a judge alongside Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul.
Since her time competing on American Idol, she has been brought back on as a mentor, segment host, guest performer, and a judge.

Fans of the competition series have been adamant about the showrunners improving the reality singing competition and took to social media to provide their critiques.
The official Idol Instagram account shared a message that promoted the show’s return for a 22nd season on the platform recently.
“American Idol is coming back for another season,” the image text read.
The post’s caption encouraged fans to sing along with the contestants for another season.
Several followers flocked to the comment section to demand ABC executives make changes to the show for the upcoming season.
Single-night eliminations were the main thing fans repeatedly suggested.
One person raged: “Cool. Go back to single elimination nights, and allow both coasts to watch and vote before elimination the following night.
“You’ve taken on the worst aspects of The Voice (multiple eliminations and host skits), despite having incredible talent.
“You had at least 10 stars this season, but they were rushed off the stage. Give them all more time to show us who they are.”
Another added in a reply: ” … All of this, plus allow the singers who are eliminated to have their one last ‘swan song.’
“The show used to do this, rather than have them rushed off the stage unless they’re chosen to sing for a judges save.”
A slew of other fans insisted that the show bring in new judges to replace the current ones.
“New judges please,” one fan demanded.
Seconding the commenter, one person added: “Of course, I just thought it was so refreshing to have Alanis [Morissette] and Ed [Sheeran] on last week.
“I just feel like the 3 we have now have said all they are going to say… gets repetitive.”
Another advocated: “Make Alanis a permanent judge. She radiates joy and gives honest sensible feedback.”
“They never say anything critical like Simon. Always so positive it’s not its not realistic,” another said.

Idol fans have slammed the show’s latest season, claiming it feels rushed.
Viewers claimed that it ruins the show when a number of contestants leave at the end of each live episode.
Other fans have complained that the audition process felt dragged out and slammed producers for sending home 14 contestants in one week.
One critic wrote on Reddit: “Anyone else feel like this season has felt so rushed?
“I loved this season initially but since we hit the top 20 I feel like they’ve just been getting rid of talent in droves and it hasn’t been as enjoyable for me.”
Another added: “I miss Idol from back in the day. When they had the top 12, and only one contestant went home each week. Those were the days!”
A third suggested: “Could easily cut a week of Hollywood and a week of auditions then add in two weeks or two nights of live shows.”

It’s apparent that her hair was being fully shaved off in the back and formed into a thick short bowl cut at the top.
At the very end of the video, Angela stood up and posed, modeling her fully completed, daring look.
She also shared a selfie video of her hairstylist while they were mid-styling to her Instagram Stories before she posted it on her profile.
The Stories’ slide was captioned: “New cut baby [heart emoji] [prayer hands]. Time to curl.”
It appears that Angela is overhauling everything associated with her past image, including the colorful and dramatic wigs she’s known for wearing.

Angela was very vocal about her transformations, physical and spiritual, in March.
During her appearance on the Tamron Hall Show in late March, she admitted that she’s shed her plastic surgery and has embraced her naturalness.
In Angela’s interview with Tamron, 52, she opened up about removing her cosmetic surgery work from her body.
Now that Angela had turned a new leaf, she took out her breast implants and sucked out her butt injections as well as her face filler.
On the show, Angela gave advice to young girls, stirring them away from using plastic surgery to change what they disliked about themselves.
Since her stance on cosmetic work seemed like a complete 180 shift, being that she has been the poster child for plastic surgery for so long, Tamron appeared skeptical.
The ABC anchor asked her bluntly, “So, will you ever do any more surgery? Any more fillers?”
Angela concisely replied, “I’m done ya’ll, no more,” which gained large applause from audience members.
CRUCIAL CHANGES

She looked stunning with her new look as she attended a magazine party in Atlanta, Georgia, in mid-March.
Angela – who has a daughter Dream, six, with Rob Kardashian – showed off her features by pulling her hair back into a tousled updo.

JoJo posted security footage of two robbers at her San Fernando Valley home on Tuesday.
The Dance Moms star told fans on Snapchat: “We were robbed last night at 2:40(ish)AM… It was an armed robbery which is very scary.
“It was a REALLLLLY long night on the phone with my security, family, and LAPD.
“And then I couldn’t fall back asleep after. Was about two hours on the phone, then lots more just laying there thinking.”
JoJo then shared a video from inside her home of the masked robbers climbing the stairs and walking around her entrance hall.
The teen said: “Security footage of the break-in… It’s terrifying. This makes me sick to watch.”
Police said that they responded to a call from an alarm company about a break-in at JoJo’s home, TMZ reported.
They found a door open, which is how they believe the perpetrators, entered. The suspects have not been identified or found.
JoJo was on a cruise when the break-in occurred, according to Entertainment Tonight,
The dancer said there was “lots of materialistic damage” from the burglary, but added, “That can all be fixed.”
“I’m just happy that my family and pups are safe. Most important thing to me,” she said.
“Do me a favor and hug your people extra tight tonight,” JoJo added.
“Life is SCARY. And you never know when anything could happen.”
JoJo bought the 6,500-square-foot mansion in Tarzana, LA, in December 2019 and moved herself and her family into it.
A month later, the YouTube star gave fans a tour of the house, which boasts a basketball court, a merchandise store and an in-home 7-Eleven.
JOJO TARGETED
This isn’t the first time JoJo has been targeted at her LA mansion.
In january 2021, she became the victim of “swatting” – the act of making prank 911 calls to bring emergency responders to a particular location.
She recorded cops swarming her house and claimed there were at least 50 officers there – although footage of the moment appeared to show only seven police cars and one fire truck.
“My fear was that I thought somebody was in the house and I didn’t know about it. That’s what I was scared about!” she said on her videographer Nate Javier’s Instagram Live.
“Or somebody like came to hide and they came through our backyard. Never prank the police that is the most wrong thing to do. It’s very, very, very illegal.”
The Nickelodeon star added: “The people will get in trouble for whoever did that. They will get in a lot of trouble, possibly serve time. That’s what my security told me.”
The prank came just days after JoJo came out as LGBTQ in a lengthy Instagram video, where she opened up for the first time about her sexual orientation.

How long has Steph’s Packed Lunch been running?
If you’ve been a fan of Steph’s Packed Lunch from the beginning – then you will know the show started off with a completely different name.
In late 2019, Channel 4 announced that a new live daytime programme presented by McGovern called The Steph Show had been commissioned.
On March 30, 2020 – the new show aired for the first time from the specially built studio overlooking Leeds Docks, just one week into the coronavirus lockdown.
Due to the restrictions during the pandemic The Steph Show started broadcasting from the presenter’s home – however, this caused logistical problems and it was announced that the show would be taken off air for a while.
When the lunchtime show returned in September 2020, it came back with a new name – Steph’s Packed Lunch.

Steph left the BBC in 2019 and made the move to Channel 4 – where she’s now the face of Steph’s Packed Lunch.

The sibling costars have been fighting since the end of last season, leaving fans unsure resolution could be reached.

Kyle, 54, took to her Instagram feed to share photos from her niece Whitney Davis’ bridal shower.
She appeared in the photo alongside her sister Kathy, 64, and their sister Kim Richards.
Kyle was also seen standing with her daughter Farrah and several other family members.
Kyle and Kathy – who had a very public falling out at the last RHOBH reunion – were stood right next to one another in the photo.
They did not have their arms around one another but appeared in good spirits.
Kathy had not posted the photo as of this writing.
Fans flocked to the comments to celebrate the reunion.

On a recent Today Show appearance, Kim discussed the upcoming season of The Kardashians.
Host Savannah Guthrie asked: “After all these years, are you ever like: ‘I think I’m done with showing everyone this part of my life.'”
The reality star replied: “When we signed up for this we wanted to always be super open and honest and there’s obviously different seasons where some people feel like they just have some boundaries and want to protect some things and then other people want to open up and share way more.
“I’m so blessed that there’s so many of us that we can always respect each other’s space.”
Kim confessed: “This season was probably one of my – out of filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians or The Kardashians – this season was probably my most emotional and frustrating internally with family, that I haven’t really seen or experienced before.”
Savannah asked: “Why is that? They talk about some tension between you and your sister Kourtney over her wedding. Is that the source of it?”
“Yeah – and we’ve been there before and we’ll always be okay. We’re always family, that’s how we were raised. But I’m also proud that everyone’s really vulnerable because I’m sure so many other families have gone through similar things.
“Maybe on different levels or experiences but I’m proud that we’re still so open and still driven to show and share so much,” she admitted.
Savannah then asked Kim if there’s an “aftermath” when she has arguments with her family once the episodes finally air.
“Yeah there’s different cycles, you know you film it and we think we’re good, and we make up and then you edit it and I’m seeing all the things she’s saying about me behind my back and she’s seeing all the things I’m saying about her behind her back.
“The tension rises all over again, and then you have to wait more months for the audience to see it and get everyone else’s opinions. So it is a cycle, I think I like to look at it as therapy.
“But it gets really tricky and really emotional. But at the end of the day, we really love sharing our life and I don’t see that changing anytime soon,” she closed.

An insider told Radar Online in December that executives have “grown tired of Whoopi’s constant on-air episodes and believe they are driving viewers away.”
The source added: “Whoopi seems to be picking fights all the time. She makes things very toxic.
“It’s clear she’s very unhappy. Everyone’s begging her to step aside for her sake and the sake of the show.”
The insider claimed Whoopi has been struggling with her physical health as a result of work stresses.
“Her health has been suffering, and she always seems to be ready for a brawl,” they said.
“It’s at the point where the constant fighting is literally killing her.”

Filming of the BBC show has been on hold since Freddie Flintoff‘s horror 124mph crash in December.
And today we revealed bulldozers have moved onto Dunsfold Park Aerodrome, Top Gear’s official track, as work begins to build a housing estate.
Despite being laid up while he recovers, cricket legend Freddie is still in the money, having seen his assets rise by £500,000 in the last financial year.
But he’s by no means the wealthiest of our Top Gear hosts, as we reveal in our ultimate rich list.
Eddie Jordan – £479m
Eddie Jordan tops our list with a whopping £479m fortune[/caption]
Prior to joining the Top Gear line-up, Eddie Jordan earned a fortune in Formula One – first as a racer, then as a team manager.
He later became a TV pundit and was head of the BBC’s F1 coverage for six years from 2009, before moving to Channel 4 in 2016.
That same year he returned to the Beeb to present Top Gear.
Multi-millionaire Eddie bought a private jet during his racing days – calling it a “no-brainer” as it meant he could spend more time with his family – and owned sprawling properties in Monaco, Cape Town and Surrey.
In 2014, Eddie paid a reported £32million for the luxurious Sunseeker 155 superyacht, named Blush.
The 155 feet vessel boasted an onboard nightclub, multiple lounges and dining rooms, jacuzzis, bars and a parking garage for jet skis.
Eddie sold it in 2017 and now reportedly owns a 45-metre-long sailing yacht, also called Blush.
In 2018 the F1 legend – reportedly worth £479m – raffled off his £750,000 flat in Tooting, south London for tickets priced at £10 each.

From the Big Breakfast to TFI Friday, Chris Evans was the king of 90s TV.
He was announced as Jeremy Clarkson’s replacement on Top Gear in 2015 and signed a three-year deal for a reported £3m.
But it wasn’t to last as Chris, who also earned £600,000 a year from his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, quit Top Gear after one season following an alleged fall out with co-star Matt LeBlanc.
Before leaving in 2017, the star was paid between £2.2m and £2.49m – making him the BBC’s highest-paid presenter at the time.
He returned to BBC radio, but one year after being forced to take a £600,000 pay cut he moved to Virgin Radio as part of a reported £2m deal.

Perry McCarthy, who played the character in series one and two, is estimated to be worth £1m.

Racing driver Ben Collins was also one of the men behind The Stig – and reportedly earned £70,000 doing so – but denied it for years.
