AMERICAN Idol fans have slammed producers for using early Noughties singers to perform in the finale.
Stars like hip hop group TLC, singer Jazmine Sullivan, Pitbull and Idol alums Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard took to the stage on Sunday night.

While many fans praised the singers, some claimed they seemed like “has-been” acts used to fill up the three-hour Idol finale.
One tweeted, “This American Idol finale is straight out of 2005,” and another added: “We’ve reached the filler portion of American Idol.”
A third posted on Reddit: “I can’t handle all these has-been singers when are we going to get to the real talent?”
Others complained about the lengthy episode, with one tweeting: “American Idol has been going on forever tonight and sooooo much country music.
“We’re on what? Hour 6 now?”
Another agreed: “This finale is painfully long I checked out after the first hour. Total snoozefest.”
During Sunday’s show, Megan Danielle, Colin Stough, and Iam Tongi each sang several songs as they sought the crucial last votes.
For Iam’s time on stage, he performed his own renditions of mentor Keith Urban’s Making Memories of Us, which brought Katy Perry to tears.
Iam also sang the island-inspired tune Cool Down, and brought the entire building to tears with an emotional duet of James Blunt’s Don’t Let Go.
For his final performance, Iam sang his debut single – which was a special tribute to his late father – titled I’ll Be Seeing You.
Nearly halfway through the competition, Colin was eliminated, leaving just Megan and Iam.
IAM’S THE MAN
Following a dramatic pause, Iam was crowned the new American Idol.
He was overcome with emotion as he was embraced by host Ryan Seacrest, runner-up Megan as well as his loved ones.
He admitted that despite his sudden stardom, the thing he was most excited to do after wrapping up this season is “going back home” to Hawaii.
Some fans were unimpressed with the result, however, and claimed the show was “rigged.”
“American Idol is rigged. Colin Stough was the best one out there,” one person blasted. “American Idol, I thought it was about talent.”

According to Georgia court documents first obtained by The Sun, a judge awarded sole custody of Alana, who was 16 at the time, to her sister Pumpkin.
In the final order issued in April 2022, the judge wrote that Pumpkin “has had guardianship of the minor child since April 29, 2019.
“It is in the best interest of the child that the plaintiff is awarded sole custody.”
That might explain why many people were mentioning Pumpkin in the comments on June’s new TikTok posts.
“Pumpkin did that, so proud of her for the amazing women she raised, congrats!” one person wrote.

In an exclusive video obtained by People, Kim began: “Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldn’t be like a more true statement.
“So, like, when you’re in it, I mean, especially when they’re babies and you’re feeding … there’s madness going on. It’s like full madness, it’s the best chaos though,” she continued.
Kim then admitted: “It has been the most challenging thing. There are nights I cry myself to sleep. Like, what just happened?”
She went on to say that there’s “nothing that can prepare you” for parenthood and said she’s “working on being a little bit firmer” with her children.
In a snippet of the interview shared on her Instagram page, Kim continued: “Sometimes it’s nights where it’s just we are going hour by hour to see if we’re gonna survive.”
When Jay mentioned the topic of “mom guilt,” the reality TV star replied: “Mom guilt is probably the hardest thing… ‘Am I good mom?’ Kids, all they want is time.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Kim told Jay: “Life is always going to be stressful and you can’t control half of it, but if you can control what you put out, then you know you’re on the right path.
“I do think that people pick and choose what they want to take from you.
“Once you realize this life isn’t really about you, and it’s about helping as many people as you can, all these doors open up for you and your mind just opens up,” she added.

In the second shot, the mother of four napped in her large bed with her long dark ponytail strategically placed on her white pillow and a full face of makeup.
The video clip was filmed by Kim’s British hairdresser Chris Appleton as he woke her up at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
Kim captioned the post: “Guys, I’m really tired,” but some people accused of her “fake sleeping.”
“Nobody sleeps like that Kim. Why you perking up the lips and a whole face of makeup?” one person commented.
Another person questioned: “But sleeping with makeup on??” and a third said: “Well! You go to bed in full make up????”
“It’s the perfectly positioned ponytail for me, sis,” someone else mocked.
“You are such an actress,” another person accused, while a different Instagram user wrote: “Sleeping with makeup on is wild.”

PHILLIP SCHOFIELD and Holly Willoughby have called “something of a truce” as the 61-year-old presenter confirmed his departure from ITV’s This Morning.
Sources told The Sun how it has “been a very difficult time for time but they talked about the end of an era.”
Phillip Schofield met with This Morning chief Martin Frizzell on Thursday in an office and found out that his contract – which is due to end this summer – will not be renewed.
Co-star Holly Willoughby paid tribute to Phillip despite the ongoing feud as she thanked him for “all of his knowledge, his experience and his humour” that he shared with her “over 13 great years.”
She added: “The sofa won’t feel the same without him.”
