Who is in the Eurovision 2023 final?
There will be a total of 26 acts who will be competing to be crowned Eurovision winner 2023.
Ukraine automatically goes through to the final, after winning the famous Song Contest in 2022.
Next we have the “Big Five” who also get an automatic place in the finale.
The group – France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK – don’t have to take part in the semi-final rounds.
This is because they are the countries who, via their broadcasters, make the biggest financial contribution towards the organisation of the Contest.
The Eurovision finalists (after the first semi-final) are:
Ukraine: Tvorchi – Heart of Steel
France: La Zarra – Évidemment
Germany: Lord Of The Lost – Blood & Glitter
Italy: Marco Mengoni – Due Vite
Spain: Blanca Paloma – Eaea
United Kingdom: Mae Muller – I Wrote a Song
Croatia: Let 3 – Mama ŠČ!
Moldova: Pasha Parfeni – Soarele şi Luna
Switzerland: Remo Forrer – Watergun
Finland: Käärijä – Cha Cha Cha
Czechia: Vesna – My Sister’s Crown
Israel: Noa Kirel – Unicorn
Portugal: Mimicat – Ai Coração
Sweden: Loreen – Tattoo
Serbia: Luke Black – Samo Mi Se Spava
Norway: Alessandra – Queen of Kings
There are still ten more acts who will be joining the other finalists.
They will take part in the second semi-final on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
The public votes for their favourites out of the 16 contestants taking part.
Where does the Eurovision Song Contest final take place?
The Eurovision final will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023, and is being held at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.
If you weren’t able to get a ticket to the live show, never fear, there are plenty of other options to enjoy the show without leaving your house.
The BBC will be providing coverage of the contest across all three days.
You will be able to watch on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.
Who is representing the UK in Eurovision?
Singer-songwriter Mae Muller is the UK’s entrant for Eurovision 2023.
She picks up the baton from Sam Ryder who stormed to second place in 2022.
Mae was born in Kentish Town in London in 1997 – the same year the UK last won the competition – and signed with her manager while she was working in a pub and shot a DIY music video from her dad’s bathroom.
She has already enjoyed chart success both here and across the Atlantic and worked with some of the biggest stars in UK music including Little Mix, Aitch and Sigala.
