Anthony McGill is into the last 16 of the Welsh Open but he is far from joyful together with his recreation, saying: 'I just hate the best way I play snooker.'

The 33-year-old has had a really quiet season to date however is wanting good in Llandudno, beating three-time world champion Mark Williams Four-1 on Wednesday.

It was a powerful outcome for the Scot however he was fairly downbeat after the sport, feeling he isn't enjoying snooker the best way he needs to.

The world number 25 says he is too sluggish across the desk, hampered by his personal ideas, and needs to really feel more free and relaxed while enjoying.

Requested if he anticipated such a one-sided outcome in the match with Williams, McGill advised Eurosport: 'I did but the other approach. I wasn't fancying it, in all honesty, but an amazing win.'

Explaining his pessimistic ideas, he stated: 'He's only a higher participant, easy as that.

'I'm not likely too assured right now, and even if I'm at my greatest I'm nonetheless second favorite towards any person like Mark. He performs the game so lovely, just the best way he plays, correct.

'I just hate the best way I play snooker, it's simply so sluggish, on a regular basis and I don't prefer it. I don't do it on objective however I simply doubt myself. It's up there. It's a troublesome recreation between the ears.

Ronnie O'Sullivan was in the Eurosport studio on the time and provided McGill some advice, saying that enjoying exhibition events may help discover some freedom in your recreation.
