"Greatest Picture… uh, I've to go to the envelope for that. And I'll," he stated, leaning into the microphone.

The viewers laughed nervously as he stated, "Right here it comes!"

The Scarface actor squinted and stated, "And my eyes see Oppenheimer?"

There was a pause as the gang realized Al had not read out the nominees before going to the winner.

The viewers then burst into gracious applause as the film's producer Emma Thomas and director Christopher Nolan went onstage to simply accept the award.

The strained second didn't go unnoticed by viewers at house, who shared their opinions on X, previously generally known as Twitter.

"Al Pacino's Oscar announcement of Greatest Picture was probably the most chaotic, confusing, and anticlimactic moment of an in any other case pleasant award present," one wrote.

"Al Pacino introduced Greatest Picture like this was the first time he had ever heard of a movie referred to as Oppenheimer," one other added.

On Monday, the long-lasting actor hit again at the claims, telling TMZ, "There seems to be some controversy about my not mentioning every film by identify final night time before saying the Greatest Image award.

"I simply need to be clear it was not my intention to omit them, moderately a selection by the producers to not have them stated again since they have been highlighted individually all through the ceremony."

DRESS MESS

Emma Stone was left red-faced when her dress ripped as she went onstage to collect her Best Actress award for her role as Bella Baxter in Poor Things.

The& Hollywood& star identified her gown after taking to the stage.

"My gown is damaged," she stated by means of tears whereas hugging former Greatest Actress winners.

The La La Land actress then jokingly revealed why she thinks it ripped within the first place adding, "I feel it happened throughout I'm Just Ken. I'm fairly positive."

"Don't look behind my gown," she stated as she turned away from the mic and hid the rip together with her hand.

JIMMY'S JOKE

Earlier in the ceremony, Jimmy Kimmel opened the Oscars with a crass joke about Robert Downey Jr.'s past drug use.

Late Night time star& Jimmy, 50,& mentioned Oppenheimer and its Greatest Supporting Actor nominee,& Robert Downey Jr.

He stated, "That is the very best level of Robert's lengthy illustrious career- properly,& one& of the very best," motioning to his nose.

Robert then pointed to his personal nostril, seeming to be a very good sport, and the viewers nervously laughed.
