A WELLS Fargo customer was left feeling disturbed and embarrassed after being tricked into dropping virtually $25,000 in minutes.
Erik Westervelt, of Pennsylvania, was duped after receiving a name he thought was from a consultant on the banking big.



Westervelt noticed hundreds of dollars withdrawn from the account simply days before Christmas in 2023, per the Fox affiliate WTXF-TV.
He claimed the caller sounded convincing and was well-spoken.
She reportedly advised him that there have been some suspicious transactions on his account.
And the caller warned that around $25,000 was about to go away his account.
The lady gave Westervelt instructions that he thought would put a halt on the cost going via.
Westervelt was on the road for around 12 minutes and had been ordered to relay codes back to the caller.
Throughout that point, the money was despatched to an individual he didn't know.
"As an alternative of stopping a wire transfer from occurring, I was truly giving authorization to it unwittingly," he raged.
"It was clearly emotionally disturbing and embarrassing," he stated as he recalled the saga.
Wells Fargo has confirmed they launched a probe into the fraud case.
A company spokesperson claimed they needed more time to research when approached by WTXF-TV.
The U.S. Sun has approached Wells Fargo for an update relating to its investigation.
