Amanda Holden has credited Davina McCall with leading Jamie Theakston to his cancer diagnosis, after she shared her fears that she caused his voice problems. On Tuesday, Jamie, 53, shared that he has been diagnosed with stage 1 laryngeal cancer, after undergoing an operation to remove a lesion from his vocal chords. Following news of Jamie's diagnosis, Davina was a guest on the Heart Breakfast show, where she joked that while filling in for Amanda Holden back in June, she feared she caused her co-star's throat problems by 'throttling him with a bear hug.
