Last year’s Mother’s Day family portrait was one of Kate Middleton’s biggest (of very few) controversies. At the time, the image was revealed to have been manipulated after being removed from the Associated Press news wires. Of course, the public did not yet know that the princess was suffering from cancer and did not understand the reasons for her disappearance from public life. A year later the controversy has largely been forgotten, but it seems to have set a precedent in Kensington Palace.
