Why Would Morgan Wallen Ruin Goodnights, Famously the Most Heartwarming Part of Saturday Night Live?
As someone who has stayed up until 11:30 p.m. to watch Saturday Night Live ever since I was a small and unpopular child, there is plenty about the show that I feel well within my rights to criticize. (Remember when they platformed known transphobe Elon Musk? And known transphobe Dave Chappelle?) But I've always nurtured a soft spot for goodnights, the longtime SNL practice of the night's celebrity host and musical guest coming out to say—you guessed it—good night to the audience, as the show's entire cast hugs and cavorts onstage behind them.
