After some time, they returned to the house wearing dark clothing, gloves and white-painted masks. They re-entered the basement while making loud noises to try and catch Stoddart's and Beckham's attention before they turned off the power through a circuit breaker. But the couple wasn't bothered and when the boys saw that, they turned the power back on. The couple were uncomfortable after this occurrence though, and Beckham noticed that one of the dogs kept growling and looking at the basement. Stoddart's boyfriend wanted to stay the night with her so that she'll feel safer, however, his mother didn't let him and picked him up at around 10.30pm. She offered for Cassie to sleep at their house and take her back to the house in the morning, but Cassie thought that she was responsible to remain at the house and take care of it. Beckham did call the other boys to probably meet them, however, they were whispering and the boyfriend just assumed that they were in a cinema so they couldn't speak. When they were sure that Beckham left, they turned off the lights again, with the hopes that Stoddart finally goes downstairs. However, she didn't, so the boys went upstairs instead with Draper armed with a dagger-type weapon and Adamcik with a hunting knife. Draper slammed a closet door to open it to scare Scoddart and stabbed her around 30 times with 12 of the wounds being potentially fatal. At the trial, it was found that the pair videotaped the plan to murder Stoddart with Adamcik later admitting that he was inspired by the horror film Scream. Where are Brian Draper and Torey Adamcik now? Draper was convicted on April 18, 2007, while Adamcik was convicted on June 8, later that year. They were convicted of first-degree murders and received a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment without any possibility of parole and 30 years to life for being convicted of conspiracy to murder.
